  • - What do you think about this? see, and tell us now.
  • - Why did S&W discontinued these? I only see bobtailed commanders in Scandium now...
  • - i purchased a springfield MIL-SPEC stainless steel for 730$ brand new came with hard plastic case and two stainless steel mags and a belt loop holster (plastic) and a mag pouch (also plastic) and that gun is match grade barell but other wise was a stock mil-spec with all of the military smaller upgrades for the mil-spec design.. iv'e had that side arm for about 5 or 6 years now and man oh man it shoots like a dream. i swapped out the trigger for an adjustable skeletonized type trigger. and i slapped in an extended safety (wilson combat) i also slapped in a flat main spring housing with checkering (also wilson combat) then i swapped out the beaver tail for an extended type and new skeletonized hammer also (all wilson combat) and even with all of those custom upgrades i did, the gun still comes in under 1,000 bucks. and it's super reliable so far over these five or six years of training with it.

  • - @ 22:40 the O.G. 1911 didnt have the external extractor however John M. Browning actually did design the next single action side arm to have an external extractor. the venerable Browning High Power ! :) good to go what a genius of an engineer. large majority of his designs are still used in the military in some form or another. all over the world. amazing... he was a game changer. u can say he helped us to win WW2 big time... MA DUECE fifty Cal.. Browning automatic rifle. 1911 ACP side arm.. 30 caliber water cooled and air cooled machine gun.. and those designs were used on ships in the U.S. Navy, ground forces with U.S. Army and U.S. Marines. and in the air with our tactical fighters of that time period. now if you fast forward to the Korean war.. all of those weapons i mentioned were also used to win that war also, even when we developed tactical Jett fighter aircraft the Sbare Jett had fifty caliber machine guns for air to air combat against mig fighters from the North Korean enemy pilot's now fast forward to the Vietnam war... fifty caliber machine guns still used 1911 still issued.. 30 caliber was mostly replaced at that point by the m-60 30 caliber 7.62x51 machine gun but bottom line even today our military still uses his design to win battles.. the 1911 and the 50 caliber are both still issued to combat forces in the U.S. Military and with alot of success... John M. Browning was a genius of the first order..R.I.P. mr. Browning i luv your work..
  • - Would we ever see the E series?
  • - Kimber. Warrior.
  • - I think for the money the Sig Tacops model has a few extra features for less money. Better value IMHO.
  • - Goddamn those ten round mags that stick out the bottom of the 1911's make the guns look evil as hell... Almost makes me want to buy a 1911.
  • - What is the advantage of an internal extractor? Anyone?
  • - good review love 1911s
  • - Hey Nutn I already have one 1911 and looking to add to my collection and was wondering what your thoughts are on a 2011 specifically the STI eagle 5.0
  • - I really like the S/W external extractor. They made them for nearly 50 years from the model 39 on. 50 after market manufactures make "Fail never" "Seldom Break" etc.. extractors for regular 1911's, nobody ever thought all those S/W's with external extractors ever needed an improvement... just saying ;)
  • - you are right there aren't many competitive options. the only model ive found that comes close is the Colt Wiley Clapp model, but it doesn't have a rail
  • - Good review, how is the mag well though? Is it nice and beveled?
  • - I got a Smith and Wesson e-series and I can't be happier. Way more accurate than I am and it looks like a fully customized the gun right out of the box. Tritium night sights serrated top of the slide serrated hammer housing truly unbelievable. Better than my Colts yes I said it!
  • - Several US Special Forces members prefer the 1911 and use that. I don't know about the military as a whole but a part of the USMC security forces has gone back to a 1911 made by Colt (if I remember right)
  • - I agree that the difference b/w a 9mm and .45 is negligible, that's not the point that i was getting at. the point is, the muzzle of a 1911 pretty much says "go away" in every language. as far as reliability... the 1911 has been around for over 100 years and remains virtually unchanged from the original design by John M Browning. If that's not reliabiliy, I don't know what is. You get the right ammo, and take care of it, and it'll never let you down.
  • - The 1911 never left the military inventory, although it's not the primary pistol anymore for standard forces. MARSOC just spent 22.5 million dollars buying Colt 1911s to replace their aging M45 inventory. The gun is alive and well. Further reference FBI HRT, LAPD SWAT etc. Btw, I'm not a 1911 fanboy, I'm just a fan of accurate information.
  • - para 14-45
  • - Thanks Nutn.. super review... I just picked up a Gunsite version.. commander length~! Cheers Bud
  • - MARSOC also uses DI M4's, so its a hmm as to whether whoever is in charge of MARSOC equipment has good judgement. By the no-one wants to use them anymore, I'm referring to the fact that there is waaay more glocks and sigs used than 1911's nowadays. it was a good gun, but we all have to move on.
  • - theyre probably going back to .45, but almost definitely not a 1911.
  • - @bravestender a 1911 serpa... Of course thats not correct, send it to Terry G at impact guns and get him to check it out.
  • - you should take the yoda out shootin with you
  • - 36:27 gorgeous example of the 1911
  • - Not a Glock fan. I think there are better guns for civilians. Especially from a safety standpoint.
  • - If they can make other .45 caliber pistols with polymer frame, i wonder if any company will make a polymer frame 1911? Or would it recoil too much?
  • - @MattUSMC1000 He is. Ranger. He got as a back up. And dude don't hate on Nutn He reviews the stuff that he likes and feels strongly about. If you like Colt so much ( I do too) go make your own review video.
  • - There are: Para-USA makes some in 10 and 14 round.
  • - I suppose that depends on what you mean by "combat", but I live in Philadelphia. Cops don't engage in combat regularly? BS
  • - You are talking twice the price on some 1911's, the Smith PD is $1200. Are there REALLY $2400 1911's????
  • - u shoot put your thumb on top of the safety when shooting
  • - That pose at 0:23 makes you look like a boss lol
  • - Have you tested the SW 1911 e Series? Any feedback?
  • - Ends of comments.
