  • - What do you think about this? see, and tell us now.
  • - "Hyundai vs Mercedes". All's said.P.S. AMAZING shading from that Noodler's yellow/orange ink.
  • - is it possible to over-flex the fine nib? I tried flexing with it and it was a bit difficult at first. But I started doing it more and now it feels like the tines move a bit more loosely. Should I be worried? lol
  • - I got to say that the Maki-e pen wrote the best. Why? In the video, the color was more saturated (wetter nib). It was more saturated than the medium nibbed Cool. I was kind of surprised by that. I suspect it is even more pronounced in person. I looked at the video a couple times to make sure my eyes weren't tricking me. But for the money, the Cool is a great buy.
  • - I wasn't intending to break up the video, it just ended up being 20 minutes long and in really nice, concise segments. I wanted to experiment with breaking the video up, and see what everyone thought. fwiw, I did compile it all into a playlist so you can watch it back-to-back in a 6-segment string.
  • - That is pretty spiffy! It's so surprising to see that amount of softness and flex in a steel nib, especially for such a low price. Thanks for the demo Brian! I really like this new format. Helps people get to the part that's most relevant to them.
  • - the platinum cool pen does appear to be a very cool pen! but, sadly, not for me as it ain't available with a 1.1mm stub. now, i've just gotta ask: why did you do this intro to this pen in 6 mini episodes instead of your usual one single presentation? fwiw, i much prefer the single shot videos.
  • - Well, that's true. But then it's a $190+ pen compared to a $42 one, so it darn well better write somewhat nicer! That said, I was really only comparing the line variation (width) and flexibility, and while the Cool is a bit stiffer, you can get the same variation with it as you do with the Maki-e. You are correct though, the Maki-e is wetter and flexes a little easier. I think the Cool will be a great flex for the every-person, and the Maki-e is nice for those who can appreciate its subtleties.
  • - I actually do not mind you breaking this one up because it helped me skip the parts that were of little interest. Specifically, refilling. Thanks once again guys, you rock!
  • - Definitely do, this pen is a good one worth adding to your lineup.
  • - Sold! I'm buying one in the next three years...
