  • - What do you think about this? see, and tell us now.
  • - The show definitely happened. I went to it and saw Janis there. The Bonzo Dog Band COMPLETELY flipped everyone out with their hilariously bizarre antics. The first artrock band before Roxy Music. Poco came out and put everyone to sleep with their hickory-smoked fake country music. Then, The Who emerged in the darkness and played the single greatest rock concert I've ever seen in my life. It changed my life. I've seen Hendrix, Cream, the Airplane, the Dead, Bowie, Janis, so on and so forth. I've also seen the original Who numerous times, both in the U.S. and when I lived in London. Nothing compares to this show. It transcended rock-and-roll and took rock virtuosity to an entirely new level. There will never again be a rhythm section like Entwistle and Moon. For poster collectors: The display windows at the Palladium had b/w posters in them that - as far as I can tell - were probably the same size as Rick's artwork, which I saw when Jacaber owned it. I actually held the ones that were put up at Wallich's Music City and at the Groove Company. I kept meaning to go back after the show and get one of them. What would THAT be worth?
