  • - What is that reaction he has on the whiteboard? Some kind of naphthalene addition of (I can't tell)
  • - @Morpun I doubt that. These videos don't teach you about all the logic of chemistry. Your college must have taught you WHY these reactions occur, and give numbers to them.
  • - 5 europium stars, fine sirs.
  • - Europium is also used in glow in the dark powders.
  • - @Draxis32 It absorbs neutrons...probably more than any other element. It's used in the control rods of some nuclear reactors.
  • - I remember old televisions going funny when displaying red. Does this have anything to do with europium?
  • - I remember those old color console TV sets. There were color knobs on them that you had to turn if there was too much red, green, or blue in the picture. The cathode tubes inside could be replaced.
  • - It sounds reasonable. According to Wikipedia the red phosphor (Y2O2S:Eu+Fe2O3) was the bottleneck for the development of colour TV so it wouldn't surprise me that is was also the 'weakest link'.
  • - I to!!!And Im 12 years old!!
  • - I see you didn't get into college because of your spelling.
  • - Awww, no beautiful sample?
  • - Isnt Europium also used at "Atomic Absoption Analisis"?(sorry dont know to translate it)
  • - no pictures of pure europium unlike other videos?
  • - No wonder, you can't even spell correctly. I wonder what College you went to.
  • - Cheers.
