The Rifle cartridge is brass and not magnetic but the tiny primer on the end of it is ...must be a very powerful magnet to be able to pull it along the bottom and up onto the shore ...I've been taking magnets out of old microwaves they are about the same size and round with hole in middle , I wonder if they will work ??? the price is right (Free) ...Happy trails and tight lines ...Albert
